Lamar Miller was one of the hot names on the running front coming into this season. However, a slow start had many wondering if they had burned first-round picks on him in fantasy leagues.
In Week 6, Miller let everyone know that he'd be more than worthy of the top pick you likely used on him in your league. Miller torched the Indianapolis Colts for 149 rushing yards and a touchdown on 24 carries to go with three grabs for 29 yards and another score.
This is not the Miller we saw lost in the shuffle in Miami. This is the Miller who can carry your fantasy team while also carrying the Houston Texans’ offense.
Another running back who was struggling to live up to his preseason hype was Jay Ajayi. The Dolphins appeared to have once again ruined a good backfield, but they finally let Ajayi loose, and he rewarded them big time.
Ajayi finished Week 6 with 204 rushing yards and two scores on 25 carries against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that was among the NFL’s best at stopping the run. Miami may have finally found a running back it can rely on instead of its frequent committee approach we’ve frustratingly watched for several years.
