In his fourth season out of USC, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Robert Woods is likely not having the type of year he had envisioned before the start of the current regular season.
Woods has only 81 total yards receiving in 2016 and he has yet to catch a touchdown pass. With the news that fellow Bills receiver Sammy Watkins will miss the team’s game this weekend against the New England Patriots, can Woods fill the gigantic void left by Buffalo’s star receiver?
Fantasy Impact: With Watkins out, Woods will likely be the Bills’ top receiver on their depth chart this Sunday against the Patriots. But that might not be saying much given how poor Buffalo’s passing offense has been in 2016.
The Bills are averaging a league worst 163.7 yards per game in the air this season on offense. This may have to do with the fact that Buffalo has also attempted the lowest amount of passes this year (78).
Woods may get more opportunities this weekend against New England. But in the Bills offense this season, more is not necessarily the same as it would be with another team. Fantasy owners would likely be best from following through with any ideas of starting Woods in their lineups on Sunday.
