Jay Cutler injury update: Bears QB doubtful vs. Lions

The Bears likely will not have Jay Cutler for their NFC North clash with the Lions.

The Chicago Bears are listing Jay Cutler as doubtful to play in Week 4 vs. the Detroit Lions.

Cutler suffered a sprained thumb injury in Week 2 that was projected to cost him multiple games. Surgery was, thankfully, not needed, so Cutler could return as early as Week 5 vs. the Indianapolis Colts, but he is almost certainly out for Week 4.

As bad as Chicago’s offense has looked so far, going from Cutler to backup Brian Hoyer is a major downgrade that could keep this team winless and irrelevant in fantasy football.

Fantasy Impact: You will not be starting Cutler this week, and you should consider cutting him as soon as possible. He has thrown for just 373 yards and one touchdown to go with three interceptions and eight sacks taken in two games this year.

You can now safely drop Cutler in just about any fantasy league you are in.
