In only his fourth career start, Detroit Lions running back Theo Riddick did not have a performance to remember last week against the Green Bay Packers. Riddick finished with just 48 total yards on 17 touches in the Lions’ 34-27 loss to the Packers.
The Detroit running back entered the starting lineup after the team placed Ameer Abdullah on injured reserve with a foot injury on Sept. 25.
Fantasy Impact: For Week 4, Riddick should have a much better day when he and the Lions match up with the 0-3 Chicago Bears.
The Bears’ defense is coming off a 31-17 loss to the Dallas Cowboys last weekend, in which they allowed Cowboys rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott to rack up 140 yards rushing. Elliott’s performance last Sunday should not have been too surprising given that Chicago is giving up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing running backs in 2016.
Yahoo! projects Riddick to have a game this week that the Lions are more accustomed to getting from their running back, with 74 total yards on 14 touches. With a few top players around the league out this week due to injury, Riddick may be a solid choice for fantasy owners to start in their lineups.
