In his second NFL season out of Western Oregon, San Diego Chargers wide receiver Tyrell Williams has seen his role within the team’s offense gain a significant level of importance over the past few weeks. Season-ending injuries to fellow wide receivers Stevie Johnson and Keenan Allen have allowed Williams to see more time on the field and he is making the most of it.
Fantasy Impact: In terms of defense this year, it really does not get much worse than the New Orleans Saints. They have already given up 35 points or more in two games this season and no quarterback they have faced this year has passed for less than 240 yards.
New Orleans’ defense has allowed two opposing wide receivers to gain over 100 yards so far this season and there will likely be many more before the year is said and done.
At 6’4, 205 pounds, Williams has the potential to be a dominant wide receiver for the Chargers one day. They are not asking too much of him right now, but it possible he could find himself in the end zone at least once this Sunday against the Saints.
Yahoo! is projecting the receiver to finish with four catches for 63 yards and one touchdown this week. If fantasy owners are searching for a spark in their lineup this weekend, Williams could be their answer.
