Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 7: Jordan Howard a risky play vs. Packers

Taking a look at Jordan Howard’s fantasy potential in Week 7 when the Bears face the Packers.

The Chicago Bears have become a pass-happy offense, and that’s making life hard for running back Jordan Howard. Chicago is tied for 27th in rushing attempts and has managed only three scores on the ground this season.

That has led to Howard getting just 66 carries in five games, but he has managed to go for 330 yards (5.0 avg) and one score off of those limited carries. He has also caught 14 passes for 128 yards (9.1 avg) and one score.

It is clear Howard is a big-play threat whenever he touches the ball, so one would think the Bears will start getting him the ball more often. However, this probably will not be the week it comes as Chicago faces a Green Bay Packers defense that is stout vs. the run, but is vulnerable vs. the pass.

Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Howard as the 13th-best running back in Week 7. However, he faces a Packers defense allowing the fewest fantasy points to running backs this season.

Even with this bad matchup for Howard, his upside as the lead back and ability to do damage in the passing game makes him too hard to pass on. Keep him in your starting lineup this week.
