When the San Francisco 49ers face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, they will be doing it without starting running back Carlos Hyde. In his absence, backup Mike Davis is expected to get the start in the 49ers backfield this weekend.
In addition, fellow San Francisco backup running back Shaun Draughn is expected to have an increased role on Sunday with Hyde out.
Fantasy Impact: Despite the favorable matchup these running backs will have against the Bucs, fantasy owners would be taking a big risk by starting either in their lineups this week.
The concerns are mostly associated with the unknowns surrounding these two backs. Neither has gained more than 36 total yards in a game this season and both are averaging under three yards per touch in 2016.
Yahoo! believes Davis will get the larger workload on Sunday (62 total yards, 16 touches) than Draughn (43 total yards, 10 touches). But the best option for fantasy owners may be to keep either running back out of their lineups this week.
