Steve Smith injury update: WR doubtful for Ravens, fantasy owners

Steve Smith continues to be plagued by an ankle injury.

The Baltimore Ravens are listing Steve Smith Sr. as doubtful to play in Week 7 vs. the New York Jets. Smith suffered an ankle injury in Week 5 that is still keeping him from practicing, so expect him to miss this game.

That is a big loss for the Ravens’ struggling offense. Smith had been a big part of the passing game before getting injured. He drew 11 targets in consecutive games in Weeks 3-4, and caught 19 passes for 262 yards and one score in Weeks 2-4.

This would be the second-straight game Smith has missed due to his ankle issue, which is believed to be a high ankle sprain.

Fantasy Impact: With Smith likely out, expect Baltimore to give bigger workloads to Mike Wallace, Kamar Aiken, Breshad Perriman, and Dennis Pitta against the Jets. Smith is also now worth dropping in most fantasy leagues with no clear return date in sight.
