Jamaal Charles injury update: RB questionable for Chiefs, fantasy owners [Update]

The Chiefs may be without Jamaal Charles due to a setback in his return from a torn ACL.

Editor’s update No. 2: Charles is ACTIVE vs. the Saints.

Editor’s update: Ian Rapoport is reporting “[t]here is a lot of doubt” that Charles will be able to go on Sunday. Adam Schefter followed up with a report that he will be able to play, but with a limited workload.

The Kansas City Chiefs are listing Jamaal Charles as questionable to face the New Orleans Saints. Charles experienced knee swelling on Friday that could sideline him in Week 7, according to Chiefs.com reporter B.J. Kissel.

Charles was just added to the injury report on Friday after going through a limited practice. He has suffered multiple setbacks since tearing his ACL last season, which has already caused him to miss three games this season.

With this injury, we should expect a heavy workload from Spencer Ware against a bad Saints defense.

Fantasy Impact: As of Friday, Charles is ranked by Yahoo! as the 12th-best running back for Week 7. He would be in for a big game if he starts against a Saints defense allowing the most fantasy points to running backs this season.

This is a tough call, but if Charles is active, you must keep him in your starting lineup. His upside is too high this week.
