Normally, a quarterback who has lost the first four NFL starts of his career would not be a good fantasy option. But Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Cody Kessler has been playing well in his first year of professional football and he has the potential for a decent day this week against the Cincinnati Bengals.
In his last three games, Kessler has thrown for a total of 621 yards, four touchdowns, and just one interception.
Fantasy Impact: Against the Bengals on Sunday, the Browns and their rookie quarterback will be matching up with a defense that has given up the eighth most fantasy points to opposing signal callers in 2016.
Cincinnati’s total of 14 passing touchdowns allowed is tied for the third most in the NFL through six weeks this season. He may just be a rookie, but Kessler should have plenty of opportunities this weekend to increase his touchdown pass total for the year.
Yahoo! is not projecting Cleveland’s quarterback to have a monster day on Sunday by thinking he will finish with just 233 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception. But Kessler’s favorable matchup with the Bengals may be enough to sway fantasy owners who are in need of some quarterback help this week.
