Pete Carroll and Bruce Arians had very different reactions to their kickers missing chip shot field goals

I know which of these head coaches I’d rather have as my dad.

The Cardinals were so close to winning what was the biggest defensive slog of the 2016 season. They didn’t because Chandler Catanzaro doinked a 25-yard field goal off an upright.

The Seahawks were so close to winning what was the biggest defensive slog of the 2016 season. They didn’t because Seattle kicker Steven Hauschka whiffed on a short attempt.

When kickers screw up, it looks spectacularly bad. Both Catanzaro and Hauschka experienced a kicker’s worst nightmare Sunday night by missing easy game-winning field goals. Yet after the game, the head coaches of both kickers reacted very differently.

Way to stick up for your guy, Bruce.
