For a team that has not had much to be happy about this season, wide receiver Cameron Meredith has been a nice little bright spot for the Chicago Bears in 2016.
In his second NFL season out of Illinois State, Meredith is third on the team in receiving yards (307) and tied for the third most targets (37) by any Chicago pass catcher this year. The receiver has already set single-season career highs for catches, receiving yards, and touchdowns so far in 2016.
Fantasy Impact: Coming off his worst game of the year against the Green Bay Packers (one catch for 12 yards), Meredith’s opponent could be even harder this week when he and the Bears take on the Minnesota Vikings.
The Vikings are giving up the second-fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers in 2016. No pass catcher has finished with more than 62 receiving yards against Minnesota’s defense in the team’s last four games.
After suffering their first loss of the season last Sunday, the Vikings will likely be looking to take out their anger on Chicago this Monday. Yahoo! projects Meredith to finish with five catches for 51 yards this week, but it should not come as a surprise if the receiver ends up with even lower numbers against Minnesota.
