Tevin Coleman injury update: Falcons RB out vs. Saints

The Falcons will not have their two-headed backfield monster this week with Tevin Coleman out.

The Atlanta Falcons have ruled out Tevin Coleman for their Week 8 matchup with the Green Bay Packers.

Coleman is dealing with a hamstring injury suffered during Atlanta’s Week 7 loss to the San Diego Chargers. The second-year running back was having a breakout year while splitting duties with Devonta Freeman, and those two forged one of the best backfield tandems in the NFL.

In seven games, Coleman has rushed for 234 yards and five scores on 59 carries. He also has 19 catches for 330 yards and one score. He has been arguably the best back in this offense while splitting carries with Freeman, so do not expect that to change once Coleman returns from this injury.

Fantasy Impact: With Coleman out, Freeman now becomes one of the top fantasy running backs in Week 8 and for however long the former is out. Keep Coleman on the bench this week with hopes he will return before Atlanta’s Week 11 bye.
