With Cody Kessler unable to play in Week 8 due to a concussion, the Cleveland Browns will start Josh McCown at quarterback on Sunday against the New York Jets.
This will be McCown’s second start of the year. He played under center in Week 2 versus the Baltimore Ravens and has been out of the lineup since with a broken collarbone.
Fantasy Impact: McCown certainly picked a nice game to make his return to the lineup. He definitely has a chance to put up some decent numbers this weekend against a weak Jets defense.
New York is giving up the ninth most fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in 2016. They have already allowed three different quarterbacks to throw for three or more touchdowns and three different quarterbacks to throw for more than 300 yards during a game this year.
Yahoo! is projecting McCown to finish Sunday with 246 passing yards, one touchdown, and one interception. His matchup alone should at least put him in the consideration for fantasy owners in search of some quarterback help this week.
