Lamar Miller injury update: Texans RB questionable vs. Lions

A shoulder injury is threatening to sideline Lamar Miller.

The Houston Texans are listing Lamar Miller as questionable to face the Detroit Lions in Week 8. Head coach Bill O’Brien told reporters Friday that Miller will be a game-time decision for Sunday, according to HoustonTexans.com reporter Deepi Sidhu.

Miller is dealing with a shoulder injury he suffered Monday night vs. the Denver Broncos. That helped limit the fifth-year back to just 11 carries, but he still managed 61 yards on them.

In seven games this year, Miller has 136 carries for 581 yards and one touchdown to go with 20 catches for 117 yards and one score. He has managed to do this while playing with one of the NFL’s worst starting quarterbacks in Brock Osweiler.

If Miller were to miss this game, it would be a crippling blow to Houston’s struggling offense, and possibly fantasy owners as well.

Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Miller as the seventh-best running back in Week 8. He faces a Lions defense allowing the 12th-fewest fantasy points to running backs this season, though that is mainly due to teams focusing more on attacking Detroit’s depleted secondary.

The Lions are allowing the seventh-highest yards per carry average (4.6) of any NFL team. As long as Miller is active, keep him in your starting lineup.
