Editor’s update: Montgomery will play in Week 8, per Ian Rapoport.
The Green Bay Packers are listing Ty Montgomery as questionable to face the Atlanta Falcons in Week 8.
Montgomery is dealing with an illness that popped up in practice this week. It caused him to be limited in all three sessions, but he should be able to play Sunday.
That is certainly what the Packers are hoping after being been decimated in the backfield with Eddie Lacy on injured reserve and James Starks recovering from knee surgery.
All of this led to Montgomery moving to running back, a role he’s had for two straight games. In Week 7 vs. the Chicago Bears, Montgomery finished with 66 receiving yards on 10 catches to go with nine carries for 60 yards.
That came a week after he racked up 98 yards on 10 catches with three carries for six yards vs. Dallas, giving him 227 total yards in just two games of work.
Fantasy Impact: Yahoo! ranks Montgomery as the 16th-best receiver and 54th-best running back in Week 8. He faces a Falcons defense allowing the ninth-most fantasy points to receivers and seventh-most points to running backs this season.
Montgomery is a must-start this week at wide receiver.
