Despite being listed as questionable on the San Diego Chargers’ injury report this week with a knee injury, wide receiver Tyrell Williams is expected to take the field on Sunday agains the Denver Broncos, according to ESPN’s Eric D. Williams. The Chargers will need all the help they can get against a tough Broncos defense this week, and having Williams in the lineup will definitely improve their chances to come away with a win on Sunday.
San Diego’s young receiver had his worst game of 2016 against Denver when the two teams played two weeks ago (three catches for 28 yards). Will this week’s game against the Broncos have a different outcome?
Fantasy Impact: Denver’s defense is very good against the pass this season, which is probably why they are giving up the fewest fantasy points per game to opposing wide receivers in 2016. The position group has not gained over 100 receiving yards yet this year, and the Broncos have not given up a touchdown to a receiver in six weeks.
As the Chargers’ second most targeted player in 2016, Williams should still get plenty of chances to make plays on Sunday. Yahoo! thinks the receiver will finish with four catches for 53 yards this weekend, but do not be surprised if Denver forces Williams to end the day with even lower numbers.
