Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 8: Uncertainty still remains with Eric Ebron

Detroit’s tight end is expected to return to the field this weekend versus the Texans. We explore the fantasy implications.

Detroit Lions tight end Eric Ebron would like to hope that his team has missed him since he has been out with injuries to his knee and ankle for the last three weeks. But the Lions have won all three games that Ebron has not played in this season.

Not saying that his absence necessarily has anything to do with the results, but Detroit probably is not in a real hurry to get Ebron back on the field. This weekend, the Lions will see if they can win with their tight end in the lineup as Ebron is expected to play in the team’s game against the Houston Texans.

Fantasy Impact: In his return to the field, the Detroit tight end will get to face a Texans’ defense that has played well against his position group this year. Through seven weeks this season, Houston is giving up the sixth fewest fantasy points per game to opposing tight ends.

The position group has only caught one touchdown this year against the Texans and no opposing tight end has finished a game in 2016 with more than 53 receiving yards.

Yahoo! is projecting Ebron to finish Sunday with just four catches for 39 yards. Until his health and performance begin to become more consistent in 2016, fantasy owners may be better off looking for other tight end options.
