The Arizona Cardinals have ruled out Carson Palmer vs. the San Francisco 49ers. Palmer will be replaced by Drew Stanton when the 49ers host the Cardinals on Thursday Night Football.
During last Sunday’s loss to the L.A. Rams, a concussion forced Palmer from the game, and it has since kept him out of practice this week. Any player who suffers a concussion on a Sunday is essentially a lock to miss a game that takes place the following Thursday.
The concern going forward is how severe the concussion is and whether it will keep him sidelined several more games. Palmer does not have a history of concussions, so it is very possible he returns in Week 6 coming off a long break.
Fantasy Impact: You obviously will not start Palmer this week, but do not freak out and drop him from your roster just yet. He has the potential to put up elite fantasy numbers in this offense once he is healthy, so just find another quarterback to start in his place for now.
