Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Jordan Howard emerging as a legit option

Chicago’s current starting running back will matchup with a weak Colts run defense on Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

In his first NFL season out of Indiana, Chicago Bears rookie running back Jordan Howard did an excellent job filling in for the injured Jeremy Langford last week against the Detroit Lions. As the Bears starter vs. the Lions, Howard finished with 132 total yards on 26 touches.

Not bad for a running back who only had a total of 18 touches during his first two games this year.

Fantasy Impact: This Sunday, Howard will be playing against an Indianapolis Colts defense that is giving up the fourth-most points to opposing running backs this season. The Colts have already given up at least 75 total yards and one touchdown to four different running backs they have faced this year.

Based on his performance last week, Howard has a more than decent shot to have a good day against Indianapolis. Yahoo! sees the running back finishing with 94 total yards and one touchdown on 20 touches this weekend vs. the Colts.

Given his abilities and his matchup, fantasy owners should strongly consider starting the rookie in their lineups on Sunday.
