Jay Cutler injury update: Bears QB doubtful vs. Colts

The Bears may not have Jay Cutler for their matchup with the Colts.

The Chicago Bears are listing Jay Cutler as doubtful to play in Week 5 vs. the Indianapolis Colts.

Cutler is still dealing with a sprained thumb he suffered in Week 2. Cutler has opted not to have surgery thus far, so he could return soon, depending on how cautious Chicago wants to be with him.

As bad as the Bears’ offense has been, getting Cutler back would be a nice upgrade over backup Brian Hoyer, who is as ineffective as he’s ever been.

Fantasy Impact: You will not be starting Cutler this week, and you should cut him as soon as possible. He has thrown for just 373 yards and one score to go with three interceptions and eight sacks taken in two games this season.

The Bears offense is too big of a mess for the inconsistent Cutler to be consistent enough to be even a good backup on your fantasy roster.
