Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Kirk Cousins could have an off day

Washington’s quarterback gets a less-than-favorable matchup against the Ravens on Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

After a rough start to his season, Washington quarterback Kirk Cousins has been playing much better in his last two games. He only threw one touchdown in the team’s first two matchups of 2016. But in his last two contests, Cousins has thrown for a total of five touchdowns.

Coincidentally, Washington has been victorious inits last two games (it apparently helps when their quarterback actually plays well).

Fantasy Impact: For his Week 5 matchup, Cousins will be facing off against the defense of the Baltimore Ravens.

In 2016, the Ravens defense is giving up the second-fewest passing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. Of the four signal callers they have faced so far this season, only one has thrown for over 200 yards (Josh McCown).

Yahoo! projects Cousins to finish with 262 yards passing, two touchdowns, and one interception on Sunday in Baltimore. That seems like a pretty friendly projection, but the safe choice for fantasy owners may be to leave Cousins on their bench this week.
