Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Will Fuller facing a tough task

Houston’s talented rookie wide receiver may cool down this week against the Vikings’ defense. We explore the fantasy implications.

After exploding into the league during his first two career regular season games this year, Houston Texans rookie wide receiver Will Fuller’s feet seem to be back on the ground (for now). At his current pace, Fuller could finish the year with around 75 catches, 1,250 yards, and eight touchdowns.

He truly has been Houston’s perfect complement for fellow wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.

Fantasy Impact: In Week 5, Fuller and the Texans will be traveling to Minnesota to play the Vikings and their talented defense. During Houston’s previous away game this season, the rookie wide receiver only managed to catch three passes for 31 yards in a loss to the New England Patriots.

On Sunday, Fuller may find it a little harder to succeed against the Vikings’ defense. In 2016, Minnesota is giving up the second-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers.

No opposing pass catcher has caught over 76 receiving yards versus the Vikings this season and only one wide receiver has caught a touchdown (Jordy Nelson). Yahoo! is projecting Fuller to finish with four catches for 66 yards and no touchdowns on Sunday in Minnesota.

Based on his production so far this year, fantasy owners could still consider him as a viable flex option on Sunday. But a less-than-impressive performance from the young receiver this week should not come as a surprise.
