Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 5: Paxton Lynch worth a look with Trevor Siemian OUT

Denver has ruled Trevor Siemian out due to a shoulder injury. Paxton Lynch gets a shot at aweak Falcons defense. We explore the fantasy implications.

The Denver Broncos announced on Saturday that quarterback Trevor Siemian has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons. Rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch will start in his place.

Fans got a good look at rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch during the team’s game last week against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Lynch filled in for Siemian, who left the game in the first half with an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. In a little over two quarters of play, Denver’s rookie quarterback finished the game completing 14 of his 24 passes for 170 yards and one touchdown.

Fantasy Impact: Lynch would be a good fantasy option against the Falcons’ less than stellar defense this week. Atlanta has given up the most fantasy points in the league this year to opposing quarterbacks. The Falcons’ defense is allowing the position group to average over 320 passing yards and three touchdowns per game in 2016.
