Carolina Panthers WR Kelvin Benjamin left the field early in the second quarter of Thursday Night Football against the New Orleans Saints to be evaluated for a shoulder injury. He returned to the game shortly afterward.
The injury occurred on Benjamin’s lone catch of the evening, a 19-yard reception on third-and-4 to put Carolina on the 50-yard line.
Shortly after leaving the field, Benjamin was escorted to the locker room to be examined further. The Panthers said his return to the game was questionable, but he returned a few plays later.
NBC’s Heather Cox reported during the broadcast that members of the Panthers’ medical staff were examining Benjamin’s AC joint, at the top of the shoulder.
The Panthers are up 10-3 in the second quarter.
