The Seattle Seahawks had an opportunity to take a late-game lead over the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday, but a missed PAT left the teams tied at 31-31 with 1:00 remaining in the game.
The Seahawks were trailing 31-25 with just over two minutes left in regulation, and a Russell Wilson touchdown pass to wide receiver Paul Richardson made it a 31-all tie between Seattle and Arizona.
All that was left was the PAT attempt. Steven Hauschka’s kick appeared to be deflected by a Cardinals player, and it sailed wide left.
Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson were not pleased.
Earlier this season, the Seahawks and Cardinals ended a Week 7 matchup in a 6-6 tie after missed field goals in overtime kept either team from getting ahead.
That wasn’t the case for the Cardinals and Seahawks on Saturday. Following Hauschka’s missed PAT, the Cardinals executed a drive to get within field goal range. Chandler Catanzaro’s 43-yard attempt was good.
The Cardinals got the win with a final score of 34-31.
