Lace 'em up. Time for the Morning Skate.

DEADLINE DAY IS MONDAY, GUYS

Dustin Byfuglien. Dion Phaneuf. Steven Stamkos.

All three were supposed to be the big names on sale at the NHL trade deadline on Monday. Instead, their teams took them off the board before the drama of deadline day even got underway. Now you can add Winnipeg Jets captain Andrew Ladd to that group after he was traded to the Chicago Blackhawks early Thursday evening.

Of course you can't blame those teams for locking up or jettisoning their assets early. Why should they wait until the last second to pull off a trade? The downside for fans (and chaos enthusiasts everywhere) is that the market on deadline day is starting to look fairly bare at this rate.

SO, WHO'S LEFT ON THE TRADE MARKET?

WHAT HAPPENED LAST NIGHT:

STANDINGS UPDATE

Eastern Conference

The Flyers gained some ground in the Wild Card race with a miraculous win, while the Hurricanes' loss to Columbus is proving costly.

Western Conference
Dallas got blown out by Winnipeg and still maintained control of the Central. Wonder how long they can keep that up.
