Stephen Curry out vs. Hawks with an ankle injury

The Warriors announced Curry would miss Tuesday night's game against the Hawks because of his left ankle.

The Golden State Warriors will go for win No. 54 without Stephen Curry. He's sitting out Tuesday's matchup against the Atlanta Hawks to rest his left ankle, according to the Warriors. Andre Iguodala also will miss the game.

Curry twisted the ankle after an awkward landing in his 46-point outburst against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Saturday, but remained in the game. He went on to hit the absurd game-winner with less than a second remaining in overtime to give the Warriors their 53rd win.

It's well known, but Curry is having a season for the ages. He's averaging 30.7 points, 6.6 assists and 5.3 rebounds per game while shooting 51.5 percent from the field and 46.8 from three. Curry is leading the Warriors, who are on pace to break the Chicago Bulls' NBA record of 72 wins in a season.

At this point, the Warriors haven't announced whether Curry will miss an extended period of time or only Tuesday's game.

We will update as more information becomes available.
