New York Red Bulls' Felipe edges out C.J. Sapong for MLS Player of the Week

Week 3 of MLS produced several spectacular free kicks, some thrilling games (depending on which team you were rooting for, of course) and top performances.

In the end, the contest over SB Nation's MLS Player of the Week came down to two players -- New York Red Bulls midfielder Felipe Martins and Philadelphia Union forward C.J. Sapong. Both players scored two goals in wins for their teams, with Sapong's tallies coming early in a comfortable home win over New England, while Felipe pulled out the dramatics with an equalizer and late go-ahead goal in a wild 4-3 home win over Houston.

The winner, Felipe edged Sapong for the honor. It appears the voters like the dramatic in making their selection.
