Philadelphia police are investigating sexual assault accusations made against Eagles second-year wide receiver Nelson Agholor, a law enforcement source told Philadelphia Magazine. A 27-year-old employee at Cheerleader's Gentlemen's Club told authorities that she was assaulted inside the club at approximately 3 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Agholor has not been charged with a crime at the moment. Police commissioner Richard Ross acknowledged the investigation, and said that authorities had notified the team about the incident.
A spokesperson from the Eagles confirmed that the team is aware that the police are investigating Agholor.
"We are aware of the police investigation involving Nelson Agholor," the team official told Philadelphia Magazine. "The organization has been in contact with Nelson and with the proper authorities in Philadelphia. Because of the legal nature of this matter, we will have no further comment."
Agholor and several of his teammates reportedly went to the club following Thursday's practice at the NovaCare complex.
