Call it the Jason Pierre-Paul effect, but whenever a player is injured at his home over a holiday weekend, the first thing that comes to mind is: what ill-advised decision led to that?
At the Dallas Cowboys' first mandatory minicamp Tuesday, head coach Jason Garrett announced that running back Darren McFadden had surgery earlier that morning after injuring his elbow over Memorial Day weekend.
So what ill-advised decision led to that?
Cowboys RBs coach Gary Brown said Darren McFadden fell Memorial Day weekend on his right elbow trying to keep from dropping his cell phone.

Oh.
To be fair, cell phones can be slippery as all get out:
We get it. No one wants a broken iPhone. No wants want to have to make a Genius Bar appointment. No one wants to carry around a duct-taped phone until it's time for an upgrade.
But Darren, just let the phone fall next time. If it breaks, buy a new one. You're a millionaire.
