The US Track and Field Olympic Trials got underway proper with a few key events on Friday, but there will be a full slate of events on tap for Saturday. The Trials will last through July 10 and will determine who will represent the United States in the upcoming 2016 Rio Olympics.
Saturday's events include 400- and 800-meter race semifinals for the men and women and also the women's 10,000-meter and long jump finals. There will be plenty of other events as well, with a full list below. NBCSN and NBC will carry coverage of some of the days events, with the former carrying the 400-meter decathlon and the latter covering two of the women's finals events on the day.
One notable person to watch is Marquise Goodwin, a wide receiver for the Buffalo Bills who is looking to become the first athlete with NFL regular season experience to compete at the Summer Olympics. He finished 10th in the long jump at the 2012 London Games. Goodwin has the two farthest jumps in the world this year and the long jump final is July 3. He will be in action for the prelims on Saturday, set to begin at 4:45 p.m.
Alysia Montano (800-meter), Carlin Isles (100-meter) and Allyson Felix (400-meter) are some other players worth watching on Saturday. Felix is trying to become the first woman to win both the 200- and 400-meter events at an Olympics since 1996. She certainly has the talent to succeed but she's been competing with an ankle sprain for much of 2016.
Below is the full list of events and how you can watch those that will be televised and available via live stream.
