The 2016 Rio Olympics are well into their 11th full day of competition, but there is still plenty more to watch on Tuesday evening. Four more medals will be handed out before the end of the night, including three in track and field. Catch all the action on the NBC family of TV networks or via the live online streams at NBCOlympics.com.
The track will be busy again on Tuesday, with the finals of the men's high jump and 110-meter hurdles as well as the women's 1500-meter run. The men's high jump had five medalists in London, including three bronzes, and four of those athletes are back in the finals including United States silver medalist Erik Kynard.
The women's 1500-meter final will feature American runners Jennifer Simpson and Shannon Rowbury, both of whom competed in London. Rowbury made the finals of this event in each of the last two Olympics, finishing seventh in Beijing and fifth in London, and she also owns the North American record for this distance. The list of finalists from the London Games has been decimated by drug suspensions, meaning we'll be seeing some new names this time around.
In women's table tennis, the finals will be held in the women's team event. China and Germany will duke it out in that one, which can be seen live online at 6:30 p.m. ET or on tape delay later on NBCSN. China is the top seed, with a team featuring the individual gold and silver medalists.
The other medal awarded Tuesday evening will be in men's weightlifting, specifically in the heaviest weight bracket (over 105kg). The only athlete returning from the podium in London is gold medal winner Behdad Salimi of Iran. He also holds the world record in the snatch, one of the two different lifts performed in the competition.
Finally, the night will cap off with a semifinal beach volleyball match featuring the superstar American team of Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross. They will have their hands full against one of the only two teams that ranks ahead of them in the tournament seedings, Ágatha and Bárbara of Brazil. All four of the top seeds made the semis in the women's bracket.
