Baltimore Ravens’ veteran running back Justin Forsett has had a roller coaster week entering Week 1 against the Buffalo Bills. After sitting out the Ravens’ preseason Week 4 game against the New Orleans Saints, Forsett was released, then re-signed with the Ravens. After all of that, “Forsett says he’ll start against the Bills,” according to Ravens beat writer Jeff Zrebiec of the Baltimore Sun.
Despite Forsett saying that he is the starter, Baltimore native Terrance West will also see his share of opportunities. Sporting quality depth at this running back position, the Ravens will surely use a running back by committee mindset and ride the hot hand early this season.
Fantasy Implications: Justin Forsett is slated as the starter for the Ravens, but the team will ride the hot hand early this season. With solid depth at the position also featuring Terrance West and Javorius Allen, there will be a running back by committee in Baltimore. Forsett will surely see a solid share of the opportunities both rushing and receiving from the backfield. Fantasy owners would be wise to play Forsett as a RB2 or Flex option for Week 1.
