Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Bilal Powell an option for deeper leagues

The Jets are using Matt Forte as their workhorse back, but Bilal Powell is still making a decent impact.

Matt Forte may be the New York Jets' top running back, but do not sleep on Bilal Powell. That is what the Cincinnati Bengals did last week, and Powell gashed them for 41 yards on just four carries.

Powell also caught two passes for seven yards on four targets. He was a very effective runner and showed he deserved more touches this week vs. the Buffalo Bills. Whether that actually comes is another story, but Powell has at least kept himself fantasy relevant.

However, that will not be enough to start Powell going forward in anything outside of deeper fantasy leagues. He is worth rostering as Forte's handcuff, but we still need to see him play more before he is worth starting.

Fantasy Impact: Powell is ranked as a top-50 running back this week, and even got some experts to rank him as high as 34th. Still, that is only good enough for the guys at Yahoo! to project Powell for around 32 rushing yards and 16 receiving yards vs. the Buffalo Bills.

Powell should hit those marks, but that will not be enough to warrant starting him.
