Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Matt Ryan should have a great game for the second straight week

Atlanta’s veteran quarterback gets to go against a Raiders defense that just gave up over 500 yards of total offense to the Saints last week. We explore the fantasy implications.

Despite a great effort by quarterback Matt Ryan, the Atlanta Falcons came up short as they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31-24 last Sunday. Ryan finished the day completing 27 of his 39 passes for 334 yards and two touchdowns.

He and the Falcons will get another shot at their first win of the season when they head to Oakland to take on the Raiders this Sunday. Oakland was able to get the 35-34 win last week over the New Orleans Saints even though their defense allowed Saints quarterback Drew Brees to throw for 423 yards and four touchdowns.

Fantasy Impact: Given the matchup against the Raiders this Sunday, chances seem high for a second straight 300-plus passing yard game from Ryan.

With wide receivers Julio Jones and Mohamed Sanu expected to be in the lineup this week, Ryan will have plenty of options to throw to. Yahoo! sees the Atlanta quarterback throwing for 285 yards and around two touchdowns against Oakland.

He certainly has one of the more favorable matchups for an NFL quarterback in Week 2.
