Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Delanie Walker should get back on track with this week’s matchup

Tennessee’s top tight end struggled last week, but he is heading into a more favorable matchup against the Lions this Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

After catching 94 passes a year ago, similar production was expected for Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker in the 2016 season. Now, there is no reason to think that his production from 2015 cannot be matched just yet, but his current season did not get off to that great of a start last week against the Minnesota Vikings.

Walker finished with only three catches for 42 yards on five targets in the Titans’ 25-16 loss to the Vikings last Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: Currently playing in his 11th NFL season, Walker has a good opportunity to put up some impressive fantasy numbers this week against the Detroit Lions.

The Lions’ defense gave up the fifth most fantasy points to opposing tight ends in 2015 and just gave up three touchdowns last week to the tight ends of the Indianapolis Colts. If Walker is not able to find the end zone at least once during this weekend’s game, it may be time for Tennessee to begin to worry about their veteran tight end.
