Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Arian Foster back to old form?

Miami’s running back gets a matchup with a Patriots team that he has had success facing throughout his career. We explore the fantasy implications.

Now, he did not burst out and have an insane game in his first regular season action with the Miami Dolphins last week, but running back Arian Foster did offer a few glimpses of hope for his fantasy owners this season. In the Dolphins’ 12-10 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last weekend, Foster managed to be quite productive against a very good defense.

When the game concluded, he ended up with 100 total yards on 16 touches. A pretty good day for a running back who some felt his days of making an impact for an offense were all but over with.

Fantasy Impact: For his second regular season game in a Miami uniform, Foster gets to face the New England Patriots and the mighty Bill Belichick. The Dolphins’ running back has not played against the Patriots since 2012, but he does have five total touchdowns in three career games (including the playoffs) against New England.

The Patriots are coming off a game in Week 1 where they allowed Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson to gain 132 total yards on 20 touches.

Obviously, Foster’s abilities are no longer at the level that Johnson’s are currently at. But Yahoo! projects the Miami running back to have a semi-productive day against New England this Sunday, finishing with 80 total yards and one touchdown on 16 touches.
