Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 2: Donte Moncrief faces a tough matchup this Sunday

The Colts’ young receiver got off to a great start to the 2016 season last week, but now a top defense stands in his way. We explore the fantasy implications.

Many are expecting big things from wide receiver Donte Moncreif in his third year with the Indianapolis Colts. In the Colts 39-35 loss to the Detroit Lions last week, Moncreif caught six passes for 64 yards and one touchdown on seven targets.

Based on his Week 1 numbers, the young receiver is on pace to catch 16 touchdowns this season. But let’s not get carried away and believe that will actually happen just yet since he still has plenty of tough matchups remaining this year including this week against the Denver Broncos.

Fantasy Impact: While his teammate and fellow wide receiver T.Y. Hilton should still be a good option against the Broncos, this may be a good week for fantasy owners to keep Moncrief on their bench.

Denver gave up the least amount of fantasy points to wide receivers a season ago and they only gave up 116 yards to the Carolina Panthers receivers in Week 1. Yahoo!’s projections have Moncreif only catching four passes for 51 yards and zero trips to the end zone against the Broncos on Sunday.
