In only his second NFL season, New Orleans Saints wide receiver Willie Snead is already off to a blazing hot start. In the Saints’ opening week loss to the Oakland Raiders, he caught all nine of his targets for 172 yards and one touchdown.
After an impressive rookie season in 2015, Snead could become a top weekly option for fantasy owners this year.
Fantasy Impact: In his second game this season, Snead gets a matchup with the New York Giants that could lead to another big day. New York had one of the league’s worst pass defense’s a year ago and there is no reason to think just yet that they have dramatically improved since then.
The Giants’ secondary played pretty well against the Dallas Cowboys’ wide receivers in Week 1. But New York did not have to defend passes being thrown by a veteran quarterback with the capabilities like the Saints’ Drew Brees.
Yahoo! only projects Snead to catch five passes for 68 yards and no touchdowns against the Giants, but fantasy owners should still think of the young receiver as a viable WR2 or flex option for Week 2.
