After going undrafted out of Louisville in 2015, wide receiver Eli Rogers made his NFL debut Week 1 for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Against Washington, Rogers hauled in six catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. That flash of talent certainly impressed offensive coordinator Todd Haley, according to NFL Insider, Jason La Canfora.
The result of his impressiveness: an increased role for Week 2 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Eli Rogers will see a rise in opportunities on the field opposite superstar Antonio Brown. With defenses game-planning to contain Brown, Rogers will see plenty of opportunities to make more impressive plays for Pittsburgh. Despite being undrafted, Rogers’ talent continues to shine through and coaches have taken notice.
Fantasy Outlook: After impressing in his debut for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Eli Rogers will see an expanded role going forward. For fantasy owners, Eli Rogers is growing on the radar as a possible waiver wire pickup. As he continues to impress, his outlook continues to increase from waiver pickup to possible starter WR2 or Flex starter later this season.
