New York Giants running back Rashad Jennings was spotted leaving the locker room Sunday with a heavy wrapping on his left thumb and wrist, according to James Kratch of the Newark Star-Ledger.
Jennings was able to continue play, though he did not handle his usual goal-line duties in the fourth quarter. The seven-year RB had just 40 total yards in the Giants’ Week 2 win over the New Orleans Saints.
The Giants did not announce that Jennings was injured during Sunday’s matchup and there has been no update on the status on Jennings for Week 3.
Fantasy Impact: Jennings had a rough Week 2 for owners. This apparent hand injury could explain a lot, including why Shane Vareen took care of the goal-line responsibilities in the fourth quarter against the Saints.
Owners should keep an eye on Jennings as the week progresses to see if he will be able to against division rivals Washington. If he can go, he may still have limited production if the thumb or wrist injury is severe.
