New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles said Monday that wide receiver Brandon Marshall does not have a sprained MCL, according to ESPN’s Rich Cimini. Marshall twisted his knee awkwardly while being tackled by his facemask late in the first half Thursday. The 11-year veteran did return for the second half of the Jets’ win over the Buffalo Bills. He finished the game with an impressive six catches for 101 yards. Marshall sat out of the Jets’ practice Monday. It is unknown if he will be available for the team’s Week 3 meeting with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Fantasy Impact: Marshall is lucky to walk away unscathed the way his knee bent back. It looks like the Jets are wisely being cautious with the six-time Pro Bowler, sitting him at Monday’s practice. Owners can seemingly breathe easy though, knowing that there is no sprain. Expect Marshall to have some upside against a Kansas City defense that gave up 268 passing yards in Week 2.
