Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 3: Chris Ivory remains a wait-and-see option

The Jaguars’ running back could make his 2016 season debut this Sunday. We explore the fantasy implications.

After missing the first two weeks of the 2016 NFL regular season, Jacksonville Jaguars running back Chris Ivory seems very close to getting back on the field as soon as this Sunday. Ivory has been recovering from an unknown illness that was serious enough to prevent him from playing in the Jaguars’ first two games of the year.

Jacksonville signed the 28-year-old running back as a free agent back in March. While playing for the New York Jets in 2015, Ivory rushed for over 1,000 yards for the first time in his career.

Fantasy Impact: Although it is good news for both Ivory and the Jaguars that he could be on the field this Sunday, it may be best for fantasy owners to wait at least one more week before inserting the running back in their lineups.

If he does end up playing in Week 3, it is still unclear as to what his role in the offense would be right now. However, any production from Ivory for Jacksonville at this point would be an improvement for a rushing offense that currently ranks 30th in the NFL through two games.
