The Denver Broncos have ruled tight end Virgil Green out vs. the Cincinnati Bengals. Green is dealing with a calf injury suffered in the Week 2 win over the Indianapolis Colts. It could sideline him several more games after he failed to practice this week.
In his first season as Denver’s full-time starter, Green has caught seven passes on eight targets for 74 yards. That is decent TE2 production, though he will need to do more to warrant starting in fantasy again this season.
With Green out, second-year man Jeff Heuerman could be in line for his first start.
Fantasy Impact: Green was already a low-ranked fantasy tight end in this offense, so the injury just makes it easier to bench him for the time being.
Even when he comes back, Green is a fringe roster guy who you can probably cut now if there are quality tight ends on the waiver wire.
