Besides a winning record, the Oakland Raiders could not have asked for more from their starting quarterback Derek Carr so far this season. The 25-year-old gunslinger has completed 69.9 percent of his passes this season for an average of 309 yards per game to go with his four touchdowns and zero interceptions through two games.
Fantasy Impact: While he still has the potential to put up impressive numbers over the entire year, this may be a good week for fantasy owners to keep Carr on their bench if they have other quarterback options on their roster.
The Raiders’ quarterback played well in his game against the Tennessee Titans in 2015 (330 yards, three touchdowns), but the Titans’ defense seems to be much improved from a season ago. They have not allowed an opposing quarterback to throw for 300 yards or more this year and they haven’t allowed one to do so since Week 13 of last season.
Yahoo! does project Carr to finish with 268 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception on Sunday. But a monster game from Oakland’s quarterback should not be the expectations for Week 3.
