Two weeks ago, wide receiver Travis Benjamin was preparing for his first regular season game as a member of the San Diego Chargers. Fast forward to this Sunday and the Chargers’ are now without the services of wide receiver Keenan Allen and Danny Woodhead for the remainder of the year due to season-ending injuries.
Benjamin is now one of the top remaining options for San Diego quarterback Philip Rivers to throw to in 2016.
Fantasy Impact: The Chargers’ new receiver had a great game last week in the team’s 38-14 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, catching six passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns. Benjamin currently leads San Diego this season in targets, catches, receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
This week, he will be matching up against an Indianapolis Colts’ defense that has allowed an opposing receiver to gain 85 or more receiving yards in six of their last seven regular season games. With Benjamin as a top target for his quarterback combined with the defense the Chargers are facing on Sunday, there is no reason for fantasy owners to not have him in their lineups this weekend in either their WR2 or flex slots.
