The Chicago Bears are listing Jay Cutler as doubtful to play Sunday night vs. the Dallas Cowboys. The expectation has been Cutler would miss multiple games with a sprained right thumb. The good news is surgery was not needed, so Cutler could return as early as Week 4 vs. the Detroit Lions. Week 5 vs. the Indianapolis Colts looks more realistic at this stage.
Cutler originally suffered the injury during Monday’s embarrassing loss to the Philadelphia Eagles. As hapless as the Bears have looked so far, going from Cutler to backup Brian Hoyer would be a major downgrade for everyone in this offense.
Fantasy Impact: Not only will you not be starting Cutler this week, but you should seriously consider cutting him outright. He has thrown for just 373 yards and one score vs. three interceptions and eight sacks taken.
You can probably do better than that in just about any fantasy league you are in.
