Fantasy football start/sit advice, Week 3: Sam Bradford a risky start

New, comment

The Vikings’ quarterback faces off against a frisky Panthers defense in his second start of 2016. We explore the fantasy implications.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback Sam Bradford looked impressive last week against the Green Bay Packers despite only being with the team since the first week of September. In leading the Vikings to their second win of the season last Sunday, Bradford finished the game completing 22 of his 31 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns.

Minnesota and their new quarterback are heading into a tough matchup with the Carolina Panthers this week.

Fantasy Impact: For any fantasy owners who had any thoughts of starting Bradford in their lineup this weekend, it may be a better idea to look for another option. The Panthers’ defense has already racked up four interceptions from their opposing quarterbacks this season, so it should be no easy task for the Vikings’ quarterback on Sunday.

Bradford had the opportunity to play Carolina last season as a member of the Philadelphia Eagles and it did not turn out so well. The quarterback finished the game with just 205 yards, one interception, and no touchdown passes in a loss to the Panthers.

Yahoo! projects Bradford to end up with 224 yards passing, one touchdown, and one interception against Carolina this weekend. Numbers that just are not good enough for fantasy owners to justify him as an option to start this week.
