Fantasy alternatives with Willie Snead likely out for Saints-Falcons

The Saints might be without one of their best receivers in Week 3 for ‘Monday Night Football.’ We break down the fantasy implications.

The New Orleans Saints host the Atlanta Falcons on Monday Night Football to close out Week 3, and they might be without their current receiving leader. Wide receiver Willie Snead is listed as questionable with a toe injury, but ESPN’s Britt McHenry is reporting he is expected to be inactive for the game.

Fantasy implications: Snead leads the Saints in receptions and yards, and has gotten extensive opportunities in the first two games. His absence stings, particularly with this game happening on Monday. If you need a roster option and can afford a drop, the pickings are slim. The Saints best option most likely to be on waivers is Michael Thomas. He is owned in 46 percent of Yahoo! leagues. Brandin Cooks and Coby Fleener will likely see the most targets, but they are owned in 100 percent and 88 percent of Yahoo! leagues.

On the Falcons’ side of the ball, receiver Mohamed Sanu is owned in 55 percent of leagues. Other than that, we are talking about someone like Justin Hardy, who holds little value.
